El pasado sábado 08 de octubre en la Plaza Cívica Gualaceo se llevó a cabo la inauguración del “Festival Artesanal y Agroecológico”, en el que participaron 35 artesanos y 15 productores agroecológicos.

Como parte del acto inaugural se realizó la ceremonia de la chakana, misma que fue realizada por una persona practicante de la medicina ancestral, actividad que se realiza tradicionalmente como agradecimiento a la madre tierra por todo lo que nos provee.

El festival se realizó con la finalidad de incentivar el turismo dentro del cantón, además de apoyar en la reactivación económica de las familias gualaceñas. De igual manera se dio a conocer los productos agroecológicos que se producen en los campos, 100% orgánicos y libres de químicos.

Dentro de este acto se hizo la entrega de 22 carpas por parte del GAD Municipal al presidente del Comité Permamente de Ferias de Productores Artesanales (COPEFA) Jorge Criollo, estas carpas serán para uso de los artesanos para posteriores ferias organizadas en la Plaza Cívica.

En el evento se contó con la presencia del alcalde Gustavo Vera, y del concejal Aurio Pérez, además de representantes artesanos y agroecológicos.
