Luego de la marcha pacífica, realizada la mañana de este martes 27 de diciembre por las calles céntricas de la ciudad, encabezada por los representantes del transporte intracantonal y habitantes de la parroquia San Juan, quienes exigían la derogación de la ordenanza que regula las paradas de bus ubicadas en la Av. Jaime Roldós; el alcalde Gustavo Vera junto a los concejales y personal del GMOVEP, los recibieron en el auditorio municipal, donde se llegaron a acuerdos positivos, entre la primera autoridad del cantón y la ciudadanía presente.

Representantes del volante manifestaron su preocupación por la falta de una parada intermedia en la Av. Jaime Roldós que facilite el desembarque de pasajeros en las zonas rurales.

De su parte el alcalde Gustavo Vera, explicó que junto al cuerpo edilicio trabajarán en una reforma a la ordenanza, misma que beneficiará a los habitantes de las zonas rurales. Dijo además que junto a las autoridades de la ANT y CTE buscan mejorar la calidad del transporte en la ciudad, evitando el beneficio de un solo sector del transporte.

“Estoy con la gente y para la gente, no he dejado de ser del pueblo por eso aquí estoy dando la cara para buscar soluciones…”, expresó el alcalde Vera, recibiendo el aplauso y el cariño de quienes después de llegar como manifestantes, se retiraron satisfechos por los acuerdos alcanzados.
