Frases como: “Vivas nos queremos”, o “Juntas Somos Más Ni Un Paso Atrás”, fueron recitadas en el marcha pacifica que se desarrollo por las principales calles de la ciudad, donde se conmemoró el Día Mundial Contra la Violencia de Género, que se desarrollo hoy, viernes 25 de Noviembre.

Instituciones educativas, representantes de las parroquias y autoridades locales, estuvieron presentes en el evento que fue organizado conjuntamente entre: el GAD Municipal, Consejo Cantonal de Protección de Derechos, MIES, Distrito de Salud, Distrito de Educación y Centro de Apoyo a la Mujer y la Familia “Las Marías”.

Concluida la marcha, los participantes se dieron cita en la Plaza Cívica Gualaceo para participar de varias actividades programadas para concientizar sobre el respeto a la vida y la lucha por la eliminación de la violencia contra la mujer.

En su intervención Yolanda Arias, Directora de Unidad Social, manifestó que, desde esta dependencia se trabaja todos los días en buscar una convivencia armoniosa entre toda la sociedad.

De su parte, el alcalde Gustavo Vera, indicó que desde el GAD Municipal, constantemente se viene invirtiendo en convenios con el MIES para trabajar con los grupos vulnerables en restituir sus derechos y buscar un mejor vivir para la sociedad gualaceña.

Dramatizaciones, poemas, baile, música, fueron parte de las actividades que se desarrollaron con la finalidad de concientizar a los presentes sobre la violencia de género. Además, festival gastronómico con la participación de mujeres emprendedoras de las diferentes parroquias, se dio donde dieron a conocer sus dotes en la cocina.

Estas actividades forman parte de los 16 días de activismo contra la violencia de género que se desarrollan desde hoy, hasta el próximo 10 de diciembre.

De igual manera, desde las dependencias de protección de derechos se viene trabajando en talleres con las instituciones educativas para concientizar a los jóvenes sobre los derechos tanto de las mujeres como de los hombres.

Una competencia atlética 5k será parte de las actividades a desarrollarse para concientizar a la ciudadanía sobre la violencia.
